William Eugene Bowels  age 51, born January 13, 1962, died November 9, 2013, Bakersfield, CA in Kern County

Betty Darst (Friedman) emailed me Wednesday, November, 6th about Bill Bowles "Treetop" who said, "We are losing a great checker player, from playok.  He has played online for years,  (Kings Room, Kurnik, etc. and now in PlayOk).  He is dying, he is at home in hospice.  If possible, please put him on your checker site.  I will try to get more information for you."   This is his brother Randy in the picture with Bill at the hospital.

I just received another email Sat, Nov 9, 2013 at 9:15 PM from Betty with the sad but inevitable news that, "William Eugene Bowels. Born Jan 13, 1962--- Died Nov 9, 2013, and this picture taken by ipod."

I will search for his obituary and post it later.  Bill was from Bakersfield, Kern County, California. Here is a picture of Bill when he was about 35 years old taken around 1997.
